4TH ANNUAL INSTALLATION GALA
| Join us as we install the 2018-19 NFALA Board of Governors! The evening's keynote speaker is Raymond L. Ocampo, Jr., president/CEO of Samurai Surfer LLC and former general counsel of Oracle Corporation. We will also be presenting our annual law student scholarships to an inspiring group of future colleagues and highlighting the work of our fundraising partner the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE). AFIRE serves as the Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago's partner organization in operating the first and only pro bono legal clinic in the Midwest dedicated to serving the Filipino American community. |

We are thrilled to welcome the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE) as the fundraising beneficiary for our 4th Annual Installation Gala. AFIRE is a grassroots organization whose programs focus on legal services, workforce development, and community organizing. In spring of 2018, AFIRE partnered with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and our local affiliate FALA Chicago in establishing AGiLA ("Attorneys Giving Legal Advice"), the Midwest's first and only pro bono legal clinic dedicated to serving the Filipino American community. During the gala program, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about AFIRE's groundbreaking work and help provide affordable legal services to low-income families by contributing to the clinic fund.

Close out your 2018 NFALA@NAPABA experience with an informal Filipino-style brunch! Due to overwhelming demand, we have moved to a larger venue. NFALA has reserved the community room at Seafood City from 10:30am-2:00pm, where conference attendees can gather for one last get-together. Breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase in the food court, as well as the two bakeries and Jollibee located on site. Locals are welcome to share pot luck dishes as well!
FALA Chicago will be collecting donations for AGiLA, the pro bono legal clinic established this year in partnership with the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE) and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS).
