NFALA Leadership Academy

NFALA’s Leadership Academy is aimed at promoting new Filipino American attorneys to cultivating their own leadership style and developing skills to promote career advancement and community service. Leadership Academy Fellows will:

  • ·      Develop and leverage foundational leadership skills
  • ·      Understand career development strategies applicable for various practice environments, such as law firms, in-house, government, non-profit
  • ·      Prepare early career attorneys with relationship building resources, as well as professional and personal development opportunities
  • ·      Embody the essence of servant leadership and the Bayanihan spirit

Enrollment in the program is limited to sixteen (16) participants, with a strong preference given to candidates with between 0-7 years of experience. All applicants must be current NFALA Direct Attorney Members in good standing. For more information about how to join please, visit the NFALA direct membership page. This program is spearheaded by NFALA's Leadership Education & Attorney Development (LEAD) Committee. 

The main components of the Leadership Academy include the following:

  •       Interactive Workshops
  •       Virtual Learning Sessions
  •       Peer Circles
  •       Program Facilitators

NFALA will provide the trainers, program materials, and venue. If accepted, fellows will be expected to commit $250 as a program fee and provide their own travel and accommodation to Chicago, Illinois, and Los Angeles, California.

First In-Person Training Session: NFALA Mid Year Leadership Conference, May/June 2026, Chicago, Illinois. Attendance required.

Next In-Person Training Session: NFALA @ NAPABA, November 11-15 2026, Los Angeles, California. Attendance required.
