The LGBTQIA+ Network of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA) and the NFALA Foundation invite you to attend in full glamour NFIRE-ganza! -- Unite. Ignite. Delight!, the third annual virtual NFALA Pride Event which will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, 8:30 p.m. Eastern/7:30 p.m. Central/5:30 p.m. Pacific/2:30 p.m. Hawai’iʻi. NFALA-ganza! will be a 1.5 hour virtual event that will bring together attorneys, judges, professors, and law students from across the country to celebrate all that we are and the promise of who we have yet to become. You will be in the company of our host, San Francisco Bay Area drag queen extraordinaire Tila Pia, as well as distinguished attendees nationwide in various legal professions. We will also feature speakers including our past recipients, Christian Seno and Amanda Katapang, who will highlight updates in the LGBTQIA+ community and ways to support the community’s efforts in the ongoing advocacy and representation.

We will also showcase entertaining and talented performers, including various lip sync performances and pre-recorded video montages featuring NFALA’s own homegrown talent. This year, we are highlighting a coveted-auction item graciously donated by NYC lawyer and creative artist Christian Seno.

The theme for NFALA-ganza! is “NFIRE-ganza! -- Unite. Ignite. Delight!”

Join us, become a sponsor, celebrate, reflect, and move to action!

Tila Pia (aka Daniel Caragan) is a Filipino American drag queen born and raised in the Bay Area. By day, she works in Education and by night, she is a fierce goddess performer slaying stages across the country.

The name Tila Pia (tee-luh pee-yuh) comes from the fish - tilapia! Tila takes inspiration from female comic book characters and the strong Filipina women who raised her, honoring the power and strength in beauty and femininity.

She is honored and excited to be our host in this year’s NFALA-Ganza!

Christian Leo Seno is a criminal defense attorney with Appellate Advocates. His practice focuses on post-conviction relief and direct appeals for low-income noncitizen New Yorkers.

Christian is a graduate of the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law. While in law school, Christian interned at Queens Legal Services, the U.S. Department of Justice, and Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, and was the Managing Editor of the CUNY Law Review.

Amanda Katapang (any pronouns) is Law Graduate working with the Free to Be Youth Project at the Urban Justice Center, which works to interrupt the cycles of poverty and criminalization that prevent homeless and street-involved LGBTQ+ young people from living fulfilling lives free from discrimination, abuse, and oppression. She received her J.D. from CUNY Law School, where she gained experience in immigration law, labor and employment law, and national security law. She also received her B.A. in International Studies and B.A. in Asian Studies from CUNY City College. In her free time, Amanda is an educator-organizer, a visual artist, and a poet.

Mx Kiki Krunch (she/her) is your divine Filipina transwoman community leader by day and drag superstar by night. She honors her ancestors and goddesses she serves by passionately advocating for comprehensive healthcare for people living with HIV and trans people. She believes that LGBT rights should be universal as they are basic human rights. Gay liberation is only achieved when all members of our community across the globe are free to love who they want to love.
