Who We Are

Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago (FALA Chicago)

Mission: Establish and maintain a local and nationwide network of Filipino American legal professionals. Assist   Filipino American legal professionals here locally and nationwide to succeed in their professions, organizations and industries. Partner with regional/local  Filipino American  bar  associations  to  support  regional /local objectives. All of the above will  be performed without  profit, and for the mutual benefit of our members.

Our objective is to continuously recruit and obtain commitments from Filipino-American legal professionals to help  other  Filipino American  legal  professionals  succeed in their profession and to promote the interests of the Filipino American legal community; communicate and leverage the collective knowledge, experience, relationships and resources of members for the betterment of our legal community as a whole; and enable camaraderie and community among participants in furtherance of the Mission.

Geographic Scope: Primarily Chicago and surrounding suburbs, but FALA Chicago also encompasses Illinois and the surrounding Midwest

Year Established: 2012 (predecessor organization Filipino American Bar Association “FABA” was organized in 1996)

Signature Program/Events: Annual Installation of Officers/Board (March); Summer Soiree (late July  or  Aug);  Holiday  Party (Dec); among several other events (CLEs, law student roundtables/forums, happy hours, family-friendly events, etc.)
